About me
Hi, I’m Sara - PhD researcher and coach,
bringing together academic research and personal development
Research
I have always been curious about the world and interested in understanding people’s experiences and the social structures that shape them. From a young age, I was particularly drawn to questions around feminism and gender equality, which sparked my broader interest in social issues and inequalities. I first explored these themes during my degree in International Studies, and later went on to complete a Double Master’s degree in Demography and Social Research, focusing on social inequalities and vulnerable populations.
After a brief experience as a research assistant, I worked in a research institute managing large socio-economic datasets and preparing them for public use. Over the time, I realised that I was preparing data for other researchers to explore, and eventually decided I would like to be on the “other side” myself. This led me back into academia, and I am now in the third year of my PhD in Socio-Legal Studies at Lancaster University (England).
My doctoral research focuses on children in care with transnational family connections, and more specifically on cross-border placements and children’s rights, engaging with both quantitative analysis of available data on this population of children and qualitative interviews with experts. I am driven by the belief that this research can contribute to improving the lives of vulnerable children and inform more effective practices.
Coaching
I’ve always been passionate about self-growth and personal development, but for a long time, I hesitated to take the leap into coaching. When I finally did, it became one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Not only did it give me the tools to support others, but it also challenged me to confront my own limiting beliefs, fears, and doubts. It marked the beginning of doing something for myself, after years of living on autopilot and searching for purpose and intention.
I am an accredited coach with the Animas Centre for Coaching in London, a school known for its transformative, human-centred approach. This way of working resonates deeply with me and reflects my core values of compassion, presence, curiosity, and trust in each client’s inner wisdom. Through my coaching, I aim to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore, grow, and take meaningful steps forward.
Originally from Italy, I have spent most of my adult life abroad - two years in Barcelona and over six years in the UK. Living as an expat has given me first-hand experience of the emotional and practical challenges of building a life in a new country, navigating uncertainty, and redefining one’s identity.
My purpose is to support women in finding clarity and confidence, so they can move through life with intention and trust in what lies ahead, making decisions from a place of alignment rather than fear.
